Documentation
Everything you need to set up, configure, and use Trace, from account creation to daily production workflows.
Getting Started
1. Create your account
Go to trace.asytra.com and register with your email address. Verify your email to activate the account. You'll then create a company. This is your workspace where all instructions, assemblies, users, and data are stored.
2. Set up your company
After creating your company, configure the basics: add your company name, upload a logo (this appears on exported reports), and choose your plan or start the 14-day free trial. A card is required at checkout; you will not be charged until the trial ends.
3. Invite your team
Go to the Users section and invite team members by email. Assign each person a role: Admin (full access), Quality Checker (QC and reporting), or Operator (assembly execution). You can create custom roles with specific permissions later.
4. Create your first instruction
Go to Instructions and click Create. Use the block-based editor to build your work instruction step by step. Each step can include text, images, 3D models, and quality checkpoints. Save and publish when ready.
5. Start an assembly
Go to Assemblies, create a new assembly, and link it to an instruction. Add serial numbers for the units you're building. Operators can now open the assembly and work through the steps, logging progress per serial.
Admin Guide
User management
Admins can invite, edit, and deactivate users. Each user is assigned a role that controls what they can see and do. System roles include Admin, Quality Checker, and Operator. You can also create custom roles with specific permissions for instructions, assemblies, storage, billing, and company settings.
Roles and permissions
Permissions are granular. You can control who can create or edit instructions, start or manage assemblies, view or generate reports, access storage, manage users, and handle billing. This lets you match access to each team member's actual responsibilities.
Storage management
The storage manager holds all uploaded files: images, videos, documents. Files are organised by type with usage analytics. Deleted files go to trash and can be restored or permanently removed. Storage limits depend on your plan.
Billing and subscription
Manage your subscription from the Billing section. View your current plan, update payment details, and switch plans. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades apply at the next billing cycle.
Company settings
Configure company name, logo, and other settings. The logo appears on exported PDF reports. Language preferences can be set per user.
User Guide
Following assembly instructions
Open an assembly from the Assemblies list. Select the serial number you're working on. The interface shows the current step with all instructions, images, and checkpoints. Complete each step and move to the next. Your progress is saved automatically.
Quality checkpoints
Some steps require quality actions before you can proceed: taking photos (with a minimum count), entering measurements (numeric or text), signing off, or getting supervisor approval. Complete all required checkpoints to move forward.
Reporting problems
If you find an issue during assembly, use the Problem Report feature on that step. Describe the problem. It gets logged against the serial and step for traceability.
Exporting reports
From any assembly, generate a PDF or XLSX report. Reports contain the full build history: step completion data, measurements, photos, QC records, and timestamps. Reports can be downloaded or shared via link.
Sharing assemblies
Admins can share an assembly via a link (with optional password protection). Recipients can view the assembly and generate reports without logging in. Useful for sending documentation to clients.
